We take some home appliance injection molds for example. The part length is about 1.7m which is a big part. The original design to save cost takes the proposal of up-straight structure so that it saved the mold thickness. However, as for the part big size, the up-straight structure cannot allow the injection in the top, so the gates have to be filled in the sides, so it lead the gates to be 18 pcs.

GDM optimized the mold structure and change the mold to be reverse structure so that the gates can be reduced to be 9 pcs. With the gates saving, the cost is also reduced a lot. By the way, the injection pressure is reduced by 50Mpa, which will be very convenient for production.
